What's more, most books result as applications that are small enough to be sold directly to the phone from the App Store over the mobile phone network. Costs

Usually: For established publishers with content we think will sell well, we'll perform conversion at no-up-front cost and will instead recoup our costs from early sales. Once that's done 50% of each sale goes to the publisher, with the remaining 50% split between Apple (30%) and Intelligenti Publishing (20%).

Right now: We're looking or early partners who can provide great content. For those publishers that come on board early we're offering free conversion and have reduced our commission to 15% on each title sold.
